Homage to Bärbel Ring

The Söl’ring Hof is a special place. Not only because of its special location, but especially because of its people, who go about their work here every day with passion.

One of these people is Bärbel Ring, restaurant manager and sommelère, and quite undeniably a real character.

Raspy short red hair, a mischievous look and at the same time very focused and highly professional – anyone who experiences Bärbel in her element in our restaurant knows exactly what we mean.

There is a special aura that surrounds her and in her very own cool way she doesn’t allow herself to be pigeonholed.

She has been working as a sommelière at the Söl’ring Hof since 2009, and as a restaurant manager since 2018, now solely responsible and a firm authority at Jan-Philipp Berner’s side – a perfect match on the dune that deeply trusts, supports and drives each other forward.

We, and of course our guests, are lucky that Bärbel threw away her original plan to become a social pedagogue to devote herself to vinophile delights. But the feeling for people has always remained – the empathy and the ability to bring the sometimes complex world of wine down to a great sensual denominator, to advise without posturing with all specialist knowledge and above all to convey one thing – fun with wine.
